Why Playboating
This is NOT a clinic about learning to throw loops or space godzillas (unless you want to). This clinic is about using playboating fundamentals - precision edge control, utilizing eddy lines, surfing, and getting ultra-comfortable in holes - to become a more dynamic and safer creeker. By getting back in a slicey boat (or full stubby playboat), we will expose your bad habits and turn them into your greatest strengths.

June 20-22
Friday Arrival: You can roll in any time Friday evening. Set up camp, grab a drink, and hang out!
Saturday & Sunday: We will be running 2 intensive laps per day on the New River. We’ll be breaking down rapids, working eddy lines, getting comfortable in holes, and doing plenty of surfing.
Monday (The Bonus Lap): If you don’t have to rush home, we will be doing a FREE morning progression lap on Monday. We’ll wrap up by 1:00 PM so you can hit the road.
Your camping at Arrowhead Bike Farm is already paid for and reserved!
The Setup: Our campsites are all grouped together. Whether you are pitching a tent or car/van camping, you are good to go!
Amenities: This is dirtbag luxury. We have hot showers, flush toilets, and a restaurant/bar right on site.
Fireside Chats: We will be providing all the firewood for our evening fireside video breakdowns and chats!
Dog Policy: The campground is dog-friendly, however, they strictly prohibit leaving dogs unattended. Because we will be on the water for long stretches during the day, please plan accordingly (meaning you'll likely need to leave the pup at home for this one unless you have a non-paddling partner staying at camp to watch them).
Food: You are responsible for your own meals and drinks.
Bring your full playboat, full slice, or half-slice! (Whatever you plan to use to expose your habits and dial in your edges).
To ensure safety and the best experience for the whole group, every student must have a reliable roll and be fully comfortable paddling Class III whitewater.
This clinic is happening rain or shine, and we will paddle no matter what the water level is - with one exception: If the New River is running above 6 feet.
Safety and quality instruction are our top priorities, and above 6', the river changes drastically. Because river levels fluctuate quickly, please be aware that we may not be able to make the official high-water call until 2 days before the clinic.
